Introduction to Meditation Workshop (5-weeks)

This workshop is for the beginning meditator. It will provide you a good overview and insight into meditation practice as well as many guided meditation sessions.
This workshop will help you to learn how to establish and sustain a daily meditation practice.
Seated, reclining, standing and walking meditations among others will be covered during the workshop.
Helen Fong has been practicing meditation for many years. She has received extensive training at the Shambhala centre among others.
No prior experience in mediation is required to come and benefit from this workshop.
These aspects of meditation will covered over the 5 weeks:

Week 3. Meditation and Emotions
Week 4. Meditation and Thinking
Week 5. Meditation and the Mind
OmWork. Meditation and Daily Life
Each session will start with a brief asana practice. Please bring a yoga mat. Followed by training on a particular aspect of meditation. Savasana.

Ease your movement and emotional health by exploring a slow-paced yin yoga practice all from the floor. We will touch on the 3 principles of yin yoga and challenge the myth of yoga that everyone can do a pose if they just train long enough, hard enough…and with the right teacher. What is important is not what a pose looks like, but what it feels like. There are 8 possible directions (movements) for the spine and for many poses there are many variations. We will explore these directions.
“We don’t use the body to get into a pose, we use the pose to get into the body!”
Allow time for two short meditations and physical practice of yin yoga poses for your Spine. This workshop is appropriate for beginners to yoga, as well as, the well-seasoned yoga student.
A yin yoga home-practice package will be given to each registered student on the day of the workshop. Now let the Yin begin!
